Uncle Blaine

Yesterday, my uncle, Blaine Shelley, passed away due to complications from cancer. He was the husband of my moms sister, Kaye. What a great man he was!! He had a great love for family and would do anything for them. He always made me feel like I was part of his family. I was always included on their trips to Bear Lake or just up American Fork Canyon for a hot dog roast. He didn't need to do that but he did. That is the kind of man he was. I will miss him a lot.

Yesterday, when I heard that he had passed away, I went to their house to see what I could do to help. I spent most of the day helping clean the house so that it could be ready for visitors. It was the least of what I could do after all that Blaine and Kaye and their family have done for me.

The Steelers are going to the Super Bowl!!!

I watched the Steelers/Ravens game tonight, hoping that the Steelers would win. I knew it was going to be a close game but they did it!! They won 23 to 14!!! Our family has been long time fans of the Steelers so we're all happy!! The Super Bowl will be on February 1st and I for one will be watching!!

Cousins night out

Last night a few of my cousins and I decided to go out for dinner and a movie. We are going to try to do something the 3rd Saturday of every month. Last night, Margel, Kaylynne, Tonja, Mitzy, Katie, and I went to see "Bride Wars" at Jordan Commons in Sandy. It was a great movie!! It's about these 2 best friends who end up having their dream wedding scheduled on the same day at the same place. I laughed so hard throughout the entire movie!!

I'm glad that we decided to get together once a month. I think it's very important to maintain family relationships even when we are busy with our every day life.

It's been a while

Wow!! I didn't realize how long it's been since I last posted. I'll try to do better. I just don't always have anything interesting to blog about.

Well, it's a new year and time for resolutions. I don't usually make very many resolutions since I usually don't keep them anyway.

One of my resolutions, is to get back into working out. I kinda got out of the habit over the Holidays. Yesterday, I went to the American Fork Fitness Fair and renewed my membership for another year so I don't have an excuse. So starting this week, it's back to cycling, kickboxing, weightlifting, sports conditioning, walking on the track, and whatever else I can fit in. I always feel better when I work out. I'm planning on entering a few 5K races this spring and summer so I need to be in good shape.
